Paolo Montalban doesn't know it, but he's going to marry me one day.
The first time I saw Paolo Montalban, I was a little girl watching Brandy in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella on TV. I didn't realize he was ridiculously good-looking then, but I did like his voice, and Prince Christopher Rupert Windemere Vladimir Karl Alexander Francois Reginald Lancelot Herman Gregory James (a lot of fact-checking went into that) had more personality than a lot of early Disney princes.
Much later on in life, the North Carolina Theatre put on a production of the same show in Raleigh, and I went to see it. While watching, I noticed something strange. Prince Christopher looked and sounded an awful lot like the prince I had seen in the TV musical.
I don't want to overwhelm you with his looks. Take some deep breaths, then click here.
Eventually I managed to compare my playbill with the Brandy Cinderella DVDs they had on sale in the lobby, and there it was: His Hotness Paolo Montalban was the prince both times.
It is fate. Paolo Montalban is going to marry me. As soon as he knows, we'll send out save-the-date cards.
Perhaps you're not aware, but today is not the 25th.
ReplyDeleteNo, just kidding. (Actually, I'm not kidding--today really isn't the 25th. But I am harassing you in a very jovial manner. This time.)
That's why it's People Maureen Covets, MISSY.
ReplyDeleteHMPH.
Who died and made you a huffy old lady? (FYI: I ask because I care. And also I harass because I care. True story. On both counts.)
